The app is downloading for a long time on first launch

On first open, Bible Definition downloads its Bible library (about 115 MB) so most of the app works offline afterward. Stay on Wi‑Fi for that one‑time download; after it finishes, opening chapters is instant.

How do I add more Bible versions?

The World English Bible and King James Version are built in and always work offline. To use another version, tap the version button at the top of the reader and pick from over 1,000 translations. Those are downloaded as you read and cached on your device for next time.

How do I read the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic?

Open Study → Original for the chapter you're reading, then tap any word to see its pronunciation, transliteration, parsing, Strong's number, and meaning — and to find every other place it appears.

How do I back up or move my data?

Go to More → Backup. You can export a backup file (and store it in Files, iCloud Drive, or email), or create an end‑to‑end encrypted cloud backup secured by a private code. To restore on any device, use the same file or code. Keep your code somewhere safe — for your privacy, a lost code cannot be recovered.

My reading reminders aren't appearing

Make sure notifications are allowed: open the iOS Settings app → Notifications → Bible Definition and turn on Allow Notifications. Then check your reminder is enabled under Plans → Reminders.

Is my data private?

Yes. There's no account and no tracking; your notes, highlights, and plans stay on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
